Spring...

There are a lot of things brewing some worth mention others not so much because I don't want to jinx them.

I'm flying solo for the next couple days, Pat is in Crested Butte for a ski vacation with his sister and her friends. I'm out, for two reasons; UT has the greatest snow on earth, I get to ski for free at Snowbird. We already have season passes there.

I actually am in conflict, I have an opportunity to go touring on Saturday, the first time all season. I've also been invited to a baby shower. Its the first baby shower I've ever gone to, though I highly doubt I'm going. Its been fun shopping for baby clothes. Its with a bunch of Pat's work friends and he's not gonna be there. They are my friends too, but I'd rather go touring.

We've been talking a lot about weddings. My hang up right now is who will marry us? Pat and I both were raised Catholic. His dad sings in the church choir. I sort of set up the initiative that we should do it at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Its only blocks from our house to the idea of walking to Sunday service is appealing.

I'd start my confirmation classes after Easter, with a tentative wedding date of Feb 6th, 2010 or Feb 13th, 2010.

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. I'm thinking I should give up/start up something. I've been thinking about actually using the yoga ball that we bought last fall instead of using it to keep Daisy off the couch or guest bed.

Running a hotel

I've been busy, SLC is a happening place in the winter, fresh snow in the mountains and lots of visitors. We've had a blast, Charlie and Mary are at the end of their 2 week stay. Heading across the pond on Friday night, Pat and I are spending Valentines together, alone. He's leaving for a work trip on Monday and I have book club on Tuesday night. We are reading Barack Obama's "In my Father's Dreams". I haven't really started so hopefully between laundry and cleaning I'll get all 400 pages read especially since I'm the one who insisted that we read the book.

Speaking of Obama I don't think he realized what he was getting himself into, I don't know any one who has been personally effected. Since Pat has moved in we've been living an awesome happy life, our kitchen will be paid off at the end of February and we are thinking of redoing the bathroom at the end of the year while we take a beachy vacation. But listening to people's stories of misfortune in the media makes me more considerate of how I spend/save the money we have.

I'm looking forward to a little time alone, before the next wave of visitors, Katie and Brandon (Pat's cousins) will be here on March 9th. We are going to San Diego the weekend before that, Pat's company won some construction award and we are being flown out. I got a new dress. I'm a bit excited about wearing it.
