Bathroom Remodel Take 1

Pat and I went house shopping one afternoon for about 30 minutes after which I concluded that the houses that I like are twice as much as the houses that we can afford. This made Pat very happy as he loves the condo, especially since he doesn't have to worry about mowing grass, sprinklers or the gutters. We did concede to remodel the bathroom. Unfortunately we only have 1 bathroom and therefore will not be able to make this a do it ourselves project as with the kitchen. Let the arguing begin, Pat is busy at work and I'm left to the wedding and now bathroom planning. I don't mind the wedding planning cuz I get it. Where as when someone tells me my floor boards are only 2 inches tall, that means nothing to me but apparently took our 5-7K estimate to an 11-12k one. I'm frustrated because its a 8x11 size space and I can't believe that it cost so much to remodel.
