Slum Lords
Pat and I have been trying to think of ways to take advantage of the economy. We've house shopped, I really like old houses that have been completely gutted and I get to choose all the stuff that will go in them. There is an opportunity to do that but requires more money then we have right now. So instead we are toying with the idea of being land lords. There was a krazi (in the most kind way) old lady that lived in our condos she passed away last Christmas and her family has been trying to sell her condo ever since. The country tax assessor has it listed at 180k and we have an opportunity to buy it for 150k. I think there would be some work but rent would cover the mortgage if not more. We are going to look at it tonight, I haven't been over since I first bought my condo and Gerrie had be over to show me her "pussies". She was a ex prima ballerina who lived and loved all over Europe before settling in Salt Lake. The place is actually 100 sq feet bigger than mine, but I don't think we'd swap. To much work has taken place to make our house wonderful.
